Kearstin Piper Brown (Leah) recently premiered the lead role of Esther in Ricky Ian Gordon’s new opera Intimate Apparel at Lincoln Center Theater as part of the joint LCT and Metropolitan Opera’s New Works Program. Further engagements in previous seasons include Musetta in Porgy and Bess with New Orleans Opera, No Cowards In Our Band (Anthony Knight) and Ballad of the Brown (Margaret Bond) with Syracuse Opera, Euridice and Pamina with Opera Williamsburg as well as Clara (Jake Heggie’s It’s A Wonderful Life) and cover for Dame Shirley (John Adam’s Girls of the Golden West) with San Francisco Opera. She also made her successful debut with Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
